Established in 1993, the Academy of Maritime Education and Training, also known as AMET University, is the only university from India to be a member of the International Association of Maritime Universities. The institute is regarded as a university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS). The Academy of Maritime Education and Training is ranked 76-100 for Private MBA by NIRF 2019.
